Default Set precious items

While finding the best clean weapon and adding the best perfect mods is a great way of making money, you still have to sell the damn thing for the price you want.

How about 'precious' items that have to be combined/reunited with their various parts to form a whole which is worth much more than the parts individually. e.g. a valuable golden chessboard set or something. The pieces could be dropped as loot or be quest rewards or some such. Theres also the possibility of having different grades of parts that you can find, so the set can be completed numerous ways with varying values. For example, if you had used a silver rook piece instead of a gold one.

The sets can be sold either completely clean, with just a few bits or the whole finished piece to a normal merchant. There would be inventory issues but then there is always the gamble about whether to pick up something you dont need at the moment but might be useful later on....

What do you think guys (and no this is not completely original, and yes, I have been playing resident evil 4 recently )?

I don't get it. You are saying we should go chess board hunting? So when we beat the glint, the uber drops we get are a mohagany chessboard, and a black checkers piece. Its not that I don't like the idea, I just don't understand it. I guess the basic jist is valuable items, that we can sell to merchants for a lot of money, instead of having to sell it to real people who may not like the price you charge.

But does this mean we can play chess in our free time if we have a whole set? Or what if we get a guitar when we go out farming, we can actually use a guitar when we type /guitar.

hehe sorry for the confusion, i was very tired last night when i posted ^^.

The chessboard was an example, I'm saying items that can be upgraded or completed by finding the missing bits would be cool. If they can be completed in different ways then they can be worth more using certain pieces than others......FOR EXAMPLE you could complete an ivory chess set (yes im still using this an an example ) with a few gold chess pieces. It would still be worth something, but not as much as if you had completed it with ivory pieces, etc.

Trading for pieces could still be between players but complete sets would be sold to the merchants.

The main inspiration for this was from Resident Evil 4, which has a number of valuable items which increase in value with the more parts you find of them...http://db.gamefaqs.com/console/gamec...4_treasure.txt if you are interested in what they did.

Hope thats cleared things up a little

I think I've got it now. I think the idea would be interesting, I don't know how they would have to implement a bunch of new items though. They already have new items to add for chapter 2. But maybe after that.
